Multifunctional Magnetic Materials and Nanostructures

Quantum Materials

Since the beginning of his scientific career, Aurelio Hierro Rodriguez has been working on the Nanomagnetism field. In this broad framework, he is mainly devoted to the study of non-trivial magnetic configurations in weak Perpendicular Magnetic Anisotropy systems where topological magnetic defects have a natural playground. In order to develop his research, Aurelio is a expert in nanofabrication techniques, micromagnetic simulations and magnetic characterization methods. Importantly and aiming towards the future of spintronics and 3D nanomagnetism, he has begun to work recently on the field of Magnetic Soft X-ray Transmission Microscopy and Tomography developing novel characterization methods to unravel the complexity of magnetization textures in 3D nanomagnets with unprecedented detail.

Research Topics: Nanomagnetism, 3D Magnetic Tomography, Reconfigurable Spintronic Devices, Micromagnetism.
