As we focus on improving your child's communication this school year, we know that we can improve our skills by practicing consistently. Speech practice activities will be sent home in their Speech folders weekly. Please know that each time you work on weekly assignments allows more opportunities for progress. The more you practice at home with your child, the more repetitions they will get, allowing them to reach their goals faster. Thanks so much for your help with this!

2 for 1- You can work on your student's speech skills by listening to them read their homework (or retell a story). Many classroom teachers require nightly reading for homework. Pay close attention to their target sounds while they are reading out loud. Watch to see if they can self-monitor their productions (hear their mistakes and correct them on their own). Review what they have read by asking them questions. Listen to see if they are using correct sentence structure, sequencing the story correctly or if they are answering the questions you ask correctly. These are major goals in Speech!!!
