Assessment:
The assessment will consist of:
60% Term Work - In class assignments and chapter reviews found in the source workbook.
20% Quizzes and Exams- These are found either in the source workbook or supplied by the teacher.
20% Final Exam - This is a final exam which is a summary of the skills and knowledge developed over the course of the semester.
Student Expectations:
To perform well in any class, students must be punctual and present at every class and consistently do their homework. Lateness is not tolerated. All students must have their own writing utensil, calculator, ruler, eraser, etc Students will be given a 2-day notification for “most” quizzes and a week for chapter exams.Students will be permitted to write missed exam upon return of absence. It is the students responsibility to get caught up on any material covered in class, due to absences. If the student knows in advance of an absence, the student will need to catch up upon their return. Please keep in mind that prolonged periods of absence an inconsistent attendance greatly affects student success. It is imperative that the student be present for lessons and activities planned as they often difficult to recreate individual students. Simply completing an assignment does not mean that you are caught up. You will have missed participating in the learning process.
It is expected that students keep all materials in a binder, that has been given out in class in the form of handouts, notes, etc. and reviewing that they are reviewing material/completing all homework assignments. You must have all the material to study for quizzes and exams. Eating and drinking in class is not allowed.School policy on electronic devices will be adhered to.
Inappropriate behavior during activities will not be tolerated. If the student is misbehaving they may compromise the safety of others and are interfering with the learning of others. If the student is asked to leave the task, it is their responsibility to make up missed work.
