Hello, I'm Mrs. Wolverton. I am looking forward to another great year! This is my eighth year at Thomas Elementary as the School Counselor. I spent two years here as a 3rd grade teacher prior to becoming the counselor. I also worked for 10 years in the human service field spending my time with kids and families before I started teaching. I love getting to know all the students and watching them grow as they move through elementary.
I live in Gretna with my husband, Brad, and our three kids, Bennett (10), Brady (7), and Claire (3). We also have two miniature dachshunds, Milo and Maddi. We love spending time together at the park, watching movies, and reading.

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT OUR PROGRAMS
This year at Thomas Elementary we are continuing a program called CHARACTER COUNTS! This program is not only used as part of Collaborative Classroom Instruction (CCI), but as a framework and common language for character education in our building. We believe it's not only important to focus on academics, but to be a person of character.

Students and staff at Thomas Elementary work hard at creating a positive learning environment. One of the ways we do this, is by repeating the Purple Hands Pledge daily. This pledge reminds us that physical violence is never a way to solve problems and that words are hurtful. At Thomas, we believe we all have a responsibility to our school, homes, and community to make our world a safe place.
