Hi! I'm thrilled to be the school counselor at Palisades Elementary! Before becoming a school counselor, I taught in special education and in first grade. I began my school counseling career in 2000 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. In 2005, I began working for the Gretna Schools and have been at Palisades since it opened in 2007.

My husband, Pete, and I have two girls. Together, we love to ride bikes, travel, and enjoy family movie/game nights. In my personal time, I like to do digital scrapbooking, read, and garden.

Students and staff at Palisades Elementary work hard at creating a positive learning environment. One of the ways we do this is by having the Purple Hands Pledge visible in our school. This pledge reminds us that physical violence is never a way to solve problems and that words are hurtful.

We also use six character traits: Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, Citizenship, and Trustworthiness. We have a daily "snippet" read on our news that highlights the trait we are focused on for the month.

Character Counts

At Palisades, we believe we all have a responsibility to our school, homes, community to make our world a safe place.
