Leave this trip sheet with your parents so they have our itinerary.   You should call or text your parents when we get to Peoria

Hotel Information:  Mark Twain Hotel, 225 NE Adams Street, Peoria - 866-325-6251

Schedule:  We are currently planning on leaving around 1:36 (directly after 3rd block) on Thursday, February 20th at the Speech Office.  Bring any luggage and suit to Speech Office before school.  We should get down to Peoria around 4:45-5:00, have dinner and have time to relax.  I will excuse you from 4th block on Thursday and all day Friday.  We will return around 12:00 on Sunday.  You will need transportation or a pick up from school. 

Field Trip Form:  You need to show your teachers your field trip form and have them sign it.  Bring it with you on Thursday.  I must have parent contact information. 

Luggage - Keep your packing light.  No more than a carry on.  Those coming to observe, you don't have to dress into tournament outfits but look nice.  Make sure you have everything for your speech team outfit Maya.  Munchies? Games? 

Money - You will need spending money for all your food, except breakfast which is free at the hotel. You might also want to bring anything to munch on at the hotel room.  Unfortunately, they don't allow any food/drink into the Civic Center  (They like to sell their food)but you can sneak things in your bag.  They will have IHSA STATE sweatshirts, t-shirts etc. for sale.  http://www.minervapromotions.com/ihsa/winter-events/speech.html

Judging Assignments - I will be judging the 3:00 final round for Dramatic Interpretation

Judges:  You will have 3 judges in your preliminary rounds and 5 in a final round.

Events:  Go experience State and see as much as you can.  You can come and go during rounds between speakers.  Don't forget to catch some Performance in the Round events.  All the champions will perform at the awards on Saturday night and then we will grab dinner after. 

School Rules:  ALL school rules will be enforced.  You are never to leave the tournament or hotel on your own.  Of course no drugs or alcohol.  Be respectful of other hotel guests.  You represent GBS so be on your best behavior

Practice:  Wednesday practice and then we will find time at the hotel.

Health:  Take care of yourselves this week.  Get sleep and get in good shape for the weekend.

Treat it as another tournament to do your thing and entertain an audience!!!!
