Preschool Students
Tuition Students
Typically developing children are eligible for our program if they are 3-years-old before January 1 and not age-eligible for kindergarten. Children who turn 5-years-old on or before January 1 are kindergarten eligible and cannot be considered for the program.
Parents/guardians who are interested in applying for their children to be typically developing peers can complete the online application at any time.
Parents will begin to be notified about enrollment for the following year in March.
A waitlist will be established in the event that all peer models spots are filled. We do get opening when children move to another town or parents disenroll their children from the program during the school year.
The tuition for typically developing peers is $2,200. A $50 nonrefundable deposit is due in April and will be applied toward the $2,200 balance. The remaining $2,150 is due in full in August or can be broken up into two installments (one in August and one in November). Scholarships are available for families that are eligible for free/reduced lunches. If you believe that your family may be eligible for a scholarship, please include this information at the bottom of the online application.
Parents are required to provide transportation for peer models.
Children Receiving Special Education Services
Children are identified for special education services based on the eligibility criteria outlined by the State of Connecticut Department of Education and the federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEA 2004).
If a child demonstrates significant delays in one or more areas of development or has a diagnosed medical condition that puts him or her at high risk for developmental delays, the Planning and Placement Team (PPT) may determine that the child is eligible for special education services. These decision are made after a referral to special education and an evaluation has been completed. Evaluations may include standardized testing, classroom observation, and play-based assessment.
If your child receives van transportation to and/or from school as part of their Individualized Education Plan (IEP), please call the bus yard at (860) 652-7295 to inform them about any cancellations or changes with typical van routines.
For more information, please see the Eligibility and Services page.
