The LINKS staff is comprised of certified special education teachers, a social worker, a school psychologist, paraprofessionals and tutors. Ongoing psychiatric consultation is available to the team. Other related service staff, including a speech and language pathologist, Board Certified Behavior Analyst, and occupational and physical therapist are available based on the student’s IEP (Individual Education Plan) needs. Continuous relationships with staff from the home school are maintained while the student is attending LINKS.
LINKS staff focuses a great deal of instruction and attention on developing young adults who take responsibility for their learning and their decisions and on promoting independence in all areas. As students' social, emotional and behavior skills mature, the team carefully plans for transition back to their home school environment.
Our building is home to numerous foster puppies throughout the school year. Students are always eager to earn puppy time!
In addition, Izzy, our therapy dog, visits with students and staff and spreads joy throughout the Eastbury building. Izzy (the black lab) is shown here to the far right along with Jackson (the yellow lab). Jackson will visit students across the district.
