Objective: Add and subtract polynomials.
In order to add two or more polynomials, you simply combine the like terms from each polynomial. Remember, like terms are any terms that contain the exact same variable factors. For example:
(2x - 3y + 4) + (6x + 4y - 7) = 8x + y - 3
Subtracting polynomials is a similar process, however you must distribute the negative sign outside of the polynomial prior to combining like terms. Watch the video below to see examples of how to both add and subtract polynomials.
