Homework is submitted online through a program called "Mastering Chemistry" (the homework problems are basically the same as the ones at the end of each chapter in your textbook).

Option #2: Pearson Bundle Package deal for SMC students
Cost: $60
Includes: E-book and Mastering Chemistry access code (note: the E-book is the electronic version of the textbook in Option #1, but does not include the Student Solutions Manual)
How do I get it: Login to your SMC Canvas account at online.smc.edu. Click on the MyLab and Mastering Link. Create a Pearson Username & Password (or login if you already have one). Click the button below the area marked "Use a Credit Card or PayPal" to purchase the Pearson Bundle Package. Going forward, you will be logging in to Mastering Chemistry through the same process (login to Canvas and then click on "MyLab and Mastering")
Homework due dates
Homework must be submitted online by 11:59pm of the day indicated to be on time. Late penalty: 1% for each hour late. If there are any changes to the due dates, it will be announced in class and by e-mail.

Q: I don't like having to do homework online - is there any alternative?
A: Yes! Print out the online homework assignment and then work on it that way. Then, when you're all done go online to Mastering Chemistry to submit the final answer. Note: The online homework and the physical textbook homework problems are the SAME, except the online version uses a random number generator. It's important that you print out the online homework unique to your account BEFORE you start working on the problems.
Q: I participated in the Bridge program at SMC and was given a Mastering Chemistry access code at that time. Can I use it for your Chem 10 class?
