Hi guys,
For those of you studying science or engineering, there is a program that you should consider applying for that will really help you! More info is below, but the deadline to apply for the STEM/SRI program is Monday, May 9 2016. I just heard a presentation about this at the faculty professional development today and students who join this program have a much higher percentage success because of the support network you join, the extra tutoring you receive, the additional classes you can take and many other benefits. Please visit the website below for more info. This program helps you the entire time you are at SMC, but the culminating experience is you get to work in a research lab at UCLA during the summer for several weeks. What a great opportunity!
The deadline to apply is Monday, May 9 at 5pm. Please don't miss the deadline!

The Science Research Initiative (SRI) is an academic support program designed
to assist students interested in pursuing Science, Technology, Engineering, or
Mathematics (STEM) majors/careers.
The SRI program will help program participants successfully complete their studies at SMC, transfer to ANY baccalaureate program, and/or enter the STEM workforce. This program works closely with partners at UCLA, specifically the Center for Community College Partnerships and the Undergraduate Research Center.
