Course Objectives
This course aims to provide students with opportunities to learn and practice English reading skills, covering contemporary, real-world topics relevant to daily life. It is hoped that reading articles on a wide range of issues will motivate students and provide abundant practice, enabling students to acquire the New Academic Word List (NAWL) in context. By the end of the course, students are expected to improve their academic reading skills and become more confident learners of English.
Teaching Methods
In this course, the instructor provides students with a series of classroom tasks, including extensive reading, group discussion, group presentation, and individual/group writing. Through the range of classroom activities, students are supposed to build up confidence in reading English texts.
Course Description
This course provides students with opportunities to read various topics of English articles and practice reading skills. By the end of the course, students are expected to enhance a certain amount of vocabulary, develop a fuller reading comprehension, and boost their confidence in English.
