Spanish Club

Here are our event interest forms for the 2025-26 year school year (these will only be accessible to students). I use these to get an idea of what events students would like to participate in throughout the year. 

1. Beginning of the year Spanish Club sign-up and event interest survey. 

For the current school year, there are a number of local music and dance performances that will be available if there's enough student interest. 

Here's our potential event schedule for this year: 

• September event: 

  • Elote bar! (sign up here) We'll eat Mexican street corn (elote) with lots of different flavors. Saturday, September 13 at 7:00 PM in the Spanish room (included with student activity fee)

• October events: 

  • possible Hispanic Heritage Month event at Metro Community College (details TBA)

  • Tótem movie screening and lunch at Film Streams in Omaha Oct. 7, 8, or 9 (free; sign up here; permission form is here)

  • Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass Oct. 7 (approximately $50/ticket)

• November events:

  • Omaha symphony Día de Muertos concert at the Holland Performing Arts Center Nov. 2 at 2:00 PM ($21; permission form is here)

  • Friday, November 21 at 6:30 PM: Taco bar/movie night (included with student activity fee). Sign up and pick what movie we'll watch here.  (Note: This event was rescheduled due to state football.)

• December event: 

  • Dinner out at El Vallarta (approximately $20) on Wednesday, December 17 at 6:00 PM. Permission forms available in the Spanish room or here.

• January event: 

  • TBD

• February event:

  • Taco bar/movie night: (included with student activity fee)

• March event: 

  • Discovering the Galápagos at the Holland Center in Omaha, Sun, Mar 15 (c. $30/ticket)

  • Spirit of the Beehive movie screening and lunch at Film Streams in Omaha Mar. 24, 25, or 26 (free)

• April events: $30

  • UNL's Modern Language Fair ($15)

• May events: 

  • Andy William and the Nebraska All Stars (Cuban orchestra) at the Holland Music Club Fri, May 8 (c. $30/ticket)

  • Dinner out at La Mesa (approximately $20)

• UNO Jazz Ensembles concert with Arturo O'Farrill, Wednesday, Oct. 9 (free) at UNO's Strauss Performing Arts Center. Let me know if you're interested in this event here.

• Encanto sing-along concert at the Lied Center in Lincoln. Weds, Oct 30 (c. $30/ticket) Permission forms are due by Friday, September 13 at 1:30. 

• Song Without a Name movie screening and lunch at Film Streams in Omaha Oct. 31 (free). Permission forms are due by Friday, September 27 at 1:30.

• Paquito D'Rivera concert at the Holland Center in Omaha. Fri, Feb 28 (c. $30/ticket)

• Ballet Hispánico's Carmen at the Orpheum in Omaha Weds, Mar 12 (ticket prices TBA)

• The Infiltrators movie screening and lunch at Film Streams in Omaha Apr. 29, 30, May 1, (free)

• American Mariachi musical at the Omaha Community Playhouse, May 2025 (ticket prices TBA)
