Welcome to the Magical World of McSpedden Music! My name is Curtis Schettler, and I am honored to be the Music Teacher at McSpedden Elementary. I am starting my 20th year in music education. I am a proud graduate of the University of North Texas. GO MEAN GREEN!!! I hold two Bachelors of Music Degrees in Trumpet Performance and Music Education, as well as a Masters of Educational Administration Degree from UNT.
My music career began as Director of Music in Nogales, Arizona where I taught Band, Orchestra, Mariachi, and Reading. After one year in Arizona, I moved back to Texas to marry the love of my life, Christi (who also teaches Elementary Music in Frisco, ISD). I have spent the first nine years of my music career as a Band Director in Plano ISD at Rice MS and Renner MS. When I am not singing or playing instruments at McSpedden, you will often find me riding bikes with my two boys, Cole and Carson.
I believe music is an essential aspect of a child’s well-rounded education. My goal is that all McSpedden Elementary students will develop a lifelong love of music. I view this position as an opportunity to make a positive impact by inspiring students through exceptional musical experiences. I am so proud to be the Music Teacher at McSpedden Elementary.
