How should my child dress on Art days?
Students should come to art dressed comfortably, keeping in mind we do use messy stuff from time to time. Almost all of our painting activities are done with water-based paints, however, we may also work with media such as clay, acrylics, or permanent marker on occasion. Dress for the mess (even though we hope it doesn't happen). We will try to get any potential stains out immediately after they occur, but see the Cleaning Tips section should your student come home with something that needs a little extra care to get out.
Will my child get his/her artwork back? I haven't seen many pieces come home.
Since I showcase student artwork in art contests and shows during the academic year, I will hold on to the majority of your student's artwork throughout the year. Only pieces that are 3D will go home from time to time. But have no fear - students will take ALL of their work home by the end of the year in a portfolio.
How will I know if my child's artwork is in a contest or show?
I will email you and/or send home a permission slip, along with any other viewing dates or details, if your artist's work is selected for an art contest or show during the year.
