Ms. Kaitlyn Hartmann
Hello! My name is Kaitlyn Hartmann, and I absolutely love being a part of the McSpedden family!
Originally from the Houston area, I went to Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, TX where I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Art Education and a minor in Art History in 2012 before I started my teaching career in 2013. I taught elementary art for 4 years in Katy ISD before fulfilling my dream of returning to the DFW area in a fantastic district and at an incredible school. I started at McSpedden in 2017 and have loved it ever since!
Art has been a passion of mine since my own elementary school days. While in college, I specifically fell in love with photography and painting. When I am not at school, I am usually spending time with my dog, Kodak (named after the camera) who will be turning 11 years old this year! I love hanging out with friends and family, travelling, and going to concerts. I am also a huge sports fan, especially hockey and football. Go Stars and Cowboys!
One of the things I love most about elementary kiddos is their endless imagination! It is my hope to inspire a love of creating in each and every student. I look forward to our many art ed-ventures this year in which we will explore various media, connect art historical knowledge, and incorporate children’s literature & interdisciplinary connections. All of our projects are based on the art TEKS, and every student will take home a portfolio with all their creations at the very end of the year. In the meantime, they will be on display around the school and entered into various art contests/shows!
Make sure you follow the social media handles below to see what we are up to!
I look forward to starting year 11 here with all of you and making it the best year yet!
Love, Ms. Hartmann
