Welcome to Hosp Clinic!
Hi! My name is Stephanie Duke, and I am delighted to serve as Hosp's school nurse! I graduated from Texas A&M University in 2006 with a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Science and then graduated from Texas Woman's University in 2008 with my Bachelor's degree in Nursing. I have been an RN for 15 years and have been loving every minute of it! Along with the faculty and staff, I will assist in the planning and preparation of unexpected emergencies within or around our school to keep Hosp's students healthy and safe.
My husband Adam and I live in Frisco and we have 2 children, Jacob (12) and Haley (9). Jacob is in 7th grade at Pearson Middle school and enjoys playing tennis and playing the tuba. Haley is in 4th grade here at Hosp and loves cheerleading. Our weekends are usually spent at all our kids sports games and relaxing by the pool.
HEALTHY KIDS LEARN BETTER! A good breakfast and 10 hours of sound sleep are just a couple of steps every child needs to take to prepare for a full day of learning. School nursing and student advocacy go hand-in-hand -- from emphasizing the importance of good hand washing to beginning the discussions of human maturation. I will be at Hosp every day in case your child needs a medical professional, and as your child's school nurse, I look forward to partnering with you and your child as we walk step-by-step through the school year!
