I love teaching! I feel so blessed to be able to work with children and help them learn and succeed. I am thankful to have a job that brings me fulfillment every day. Each day I strive to give the children in my class the best education and learning experience possible. I am rewarded each day with their smiles, enthusiasm, and desire to learn.
I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master of Arts in Teaching degree, both from the University of Pittsburgh. Most of my career has been spent teaching second grade, but I also have taught first and third grades.
I also teach group fitness classes for adults in the evenings. Exercise is a huge part of my life. I spend a lot of my free time dancing, doing yoga, walking, biking, and using my stand-up paddle board.
I have a fascination with foreign cultures and exploring the world around me. I travel any chance I get. Over the years, I have traveled to 94 foreign countries and all 50 states. I have learned so much from my travel experiences. I've found that no matter how different customs and cultures may be, people are very much the same at heart.
When I'm not at school, I look forward to spending time with my husband and getting together with family and friends.
