Telling a story doing one thing at a time:
To help you explore we've created a background world to work from. To download the background, follow the instructions below. The instructions depend on your internet browser.
No matter what browser you are in, you can find the link for the world file at the bottom of this page, below the "<< Back" and "Next >>" step links. On the right side, just to the left of the X is the "arrow" to click on.
If the computer you're on has never downloaded an Alice file before, it will not know what application to open the file in. For this reason, when you download the program, you need to tell it to open in Alice.
Below are some instructions that might be useful when downloading the program. However, they might not match up exactly to what you need to do because different older or newer versions of internet browsers might behave differently.
If you're using Internet Explorer:
1. Click on the arrow below.
2. Click "Open".
If you're using Firefox:
1. Click on the arrow below.
2. A window should pop up asking what your browser should do with the file. Select the "Open with" option.
3. Make sure the box says "a2w_auto_file (default)" in it.
4. Click OK.
If you're using Google Chrome:
1. Click on the arrow below.
2. Click on the download that appears at the bottom of the screen.
3. Click "select a program from a list of installed programs."
4. Click on browse and find Alice.
5. Click "open" with Alice selected.
6. Click OK.
The world should open in Alice automatically.
In our world, we can see (in the picture) a guy standing on some grass near a tree. We have a story in mind to tell using this scene.
