Exploration: Telling a story by telling the computer to do things one at a time or together.
We started out by discovering a feature of computing, one of the many things one can Discover to start out what we call an Expedition.
After you discover a computing feature, next we'll guide you in exploring it. Think of it this way -- in an expedition you might begin by discovering something -- a feature, a problem, a potential story, etc. -- but you don't interact with it. Instead, you observe with intent and you'll have just discovered it! What in the world is it? How does it compare to things you already know?
After discovering something, assuming you found it interesting, you would further explore your discovery. You would maybe look at it in more detail, poke it or prod it to figure out how it works or what it really is. Maybe you try to build up a description of it and how it fits in with the world around it.
We are going to be your co-explorer. We know you haven't been trained to explore programming or computers. We're not sending you out all on your own. We'll help you by being your native guide. We are experienced in how to go about exploring computing and we'll help you decide what to pay attention to and what kinds of questions to ask about the discovery at hand. If you pay attention to our guiding prompts, you should find lessons here that are helpful to you in other expeditions you might have in computing and technology.
