Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
This week was mostly spent redefining the scope and separate elements of our project
The documentation of our scope redefinition can be found here, or by looking at our Gantt Chart
Current tasks are Module 1: MATLAB analysis of current data
Accomplishments from Previous Week
Redefinition of project scope
Better understanding of the project after meeting with SIO engineer Tyler Hughen
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Module 1 - MATLAB analysis of data
Acceleration modeling (Chelwei) - use the depth and velocity data to model the acceleration of the Macro and Mini Wirewalker
Force/Inertia calculations (Andrew) - evaluate the transfer of energy to the Wirewalker and analyze differences between Macro and Mini
Characterization of failure modes (Mithulesh) - determine which behavior patterns constitute failure
Statistical analysis of failure (Tamara) - analyze both sets of data for failure modes and types, see if there are patterns
Sponsor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
Prof. Lucas, Zoom, 4/6 - we need to be more proactive about getting work done, asking relevant questions, and defining our project scope to have something deliverable
Prof. Lucas, Hive, 4/9 - our redefined project scope is a good start, some tasks need to be somewhat redefined just for explanation
Instructor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
Prof. Ghazinejad, Zoom, 4/9 - look into other types of statistical analysis (Mithulesh's recommendation, approved by the prof: fault tree analysis)
Comments from Other Students in the Class (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
Risks and Areas of Concern

Upcoming milestone - Week 3 deliverables, try to have Module 1 at least partially done
Mathematical model for inertia and forces, defined/characterized failure modes
Initial setup for statistical evaluation
