Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
First functional prototype base plate and PCB are ready to be sent off for manufacturing.
Accomplishments from Previous Week
PCB Designed & Sent off for prototyping - Leigh/Jesse
Need to verify with Steve Roberts that the PCB design will work before sending for purchase. (meeting on Wednesday)
Purchase USB Components - Jesse
Need to verify with Steve Roberts that the PCB design will work before sending for purchase. (meeting on Wednesday)
CAD Design of Plate - Harald
Preliminary CAD for USB 2.0 plate completed, ready for 3D prototyping
Combined CAD FEA completed for matched-pair base plate and determinations made for material choices and factor of safety.
Begun CAD/Analysis for USB 3.0 capability stretch goal
CAD Design of Locking Mechanism - Trent
Preliminary design for locking mechanism determined (buckle lock)
CAD still needs to be started once implementation is figured out.
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Order baseplate, PCB components - Harald
Order PCB before end of this week - Leigh
figure out way to incorporate buckle lock into one of the U-dots - Jesse/Trent
Start CAD for buckle lock wants implementation is figured out - Jesse/Trent

4/13/2020 Meeting Minutes
Consider expanding capability to USB 3.0 datarate (9 conductor vs 4 conductor)
Exos/Purdue partnership on hold due to COVID-19, as of now no launch payload to be sent up using U-Dot system, may have to make a mockup cubesat as a proof of concept.
Consider using a 3D printed cubesat with a usb drive or other peripheral for passthrough.
Questions about payment/reimbursement structure for meeting on 4/15/2020 w/Professor
Instructor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
N/A - Design Proposal Last Week
Considered Zebra connector, zebra connector footprint presents problems with interfacing etc.

Risks and Areas of Concern
Exos/Purdue partnership on hold/cancelled until further notice, likely that payload and/or launch date may not materialize during the course term.
In response to this, expanding the capabilities of the U-Dot panel and creating a mockup cubesat/payload will be higher priority.
