156B Week 6
Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
Deciding between 3 final designs for the station, dependent on cost and weight of the designs
Final design will have a "half-pipe" on the bottom to angle the boards into the station for extra safety
RFID is being tested and needs to be integrated
Locking mechanisms are being tested and need to be integrated
Accomplishments from Previous Week
Models completed for final design options
Arduino code for RFID was finished
Locking mechanisms fabricated
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Work around RFID problem (the fact that the signal is a pulse, and not continuous)- Amber, Jason
Analyze station models and make decisions regarding cost and weight- Nic
Order materials- Nic, Amber
Integrate locking mechanisms- Eric
Perform tests with epoxy or glue to make sure the fins are a reliable stopper- Jason

With the weather setbacks, they've gotten anxious because they want to perform user testing. This has given us more time to test the functionality of the station before user testing, so our goal is to make the station as operational as possible by this weekend.

There is still concern that we will not be able to use the fins as a stopper, but we are certain that the fins will hold.
Risks and Areas of Concern
Wiring the arduino to the locking mechanisms around enclosed right angles
Fabrication will be time consuming
Weather is unpredictable and may hinder testing
Resources or Information Required but not Available
Schedule
Integration into final design by next weekend.
Budget (list amount spent and amount remaining)
523.25 spent
1476.75 remaining
