156B Week 4
Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
Initial prototype acquired. Prototype reviewed 4/18/2018
Initial clamp has been purchased, however it is much too heavy - a new clamp will be acquired or designed to satisfy our design constraints.
New lighter and smaller clamp is on the way from Amazon.
Designing of the plate base upon which the slotted U-Ring or clamp attaches to the girdle will wait until the girdle and clamp design are finalized.
Medical grade silicon applied to the clamp tips to increase the friction between the clamp and applicator will wait until the clamp design is finalized.
Prototype version #2 has been completed and is currently being shipped to San Diego.
Updated strapping.
Leg straps.
Designed for clamp attachment.
Feedback for prototype #2 on Wednesday week 5
Continue rapid prototyping.

Sponsor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
Patients could undergo 4-5 procedures. It would be beneficial if the girdle were designed be used on one patient multiple times before being disposed.
Dr. Mayadev is making contact with a sterilization policy specialist. A meeting will hopefully be arranged to discuss materials and requirements for adequate sterilization of the girdle.
Received an outline of the standard operating procedure to show safety and the importance of immobilization in gyn procedures.
Instructor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
