Winter Quarter Progress Report
Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
Currently in the Design Phase. No further analysis, testing or fabrication have been done.
Changed design from a pelvic clamp to a pelvic undergarment.
Accomplishments from Previous Week
Contacted Druann and gathered information about her job experience, background and how she can help with a design. (See “Druann Phone Call #1” doc)
Witnessed a patient being transferred from the gurney to a CT scanner
Have access to a broken C-clamp to gather general information (weight, dimensions, DOF …)
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Finalize a pelvic girdle design prototype.
Determine high risk components for individual analysis and risk reduction.
Follow up with Druann to discuss comments and concerns with her design.
Sponsor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments
Mayadev suggested minimizing pressure on the abdomen to roughly less than 5 lbs. Small abouts of pressure are okay and sometimes preferred in order to limit movement of the diaphragm.
Instructor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments
Girdle could be a combination of a soft and hard goods
Reconsider the designing “pelvic undergarments” as opposed to a “pelvic clamp”
Touch base with Druann.
Update PowerPoint:
Eliminate PID
Add presenter to each slide
Risks and Areas of Concern
Transfering the patient from the gurney to the CT scanner invokes a lot of movement that could compromise the position of the applicator
A large moment acting on the clamp
Resources or Information Required but not Available
Sponsored Project Webpage is still not accessible.
Need information about fabrics that can be used that will achieve functional requirements.
Schedule
Describe upcoming milestone: Finalizing a prototype design will allow use to move forward with risk reduction testing.
See Gantt Chart
Budget (list amount spent and amount remaining)
Spent: $0
Remaining: $3000
Progress on Report and Webpage
No progress on report or webpage
Substantial progress on powerpoint. Once design is finalized, powerpoint will be easy to finish.
