Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
For data communications, we're able to read and display the measurements from the different force sensors through wifi. We're working on two bluetooth alternatives as well. We are hoping we could test the different options in the hospital setting to see if one of them is more prone to interference than the other. We're also working on setting up a rasberry pi to act as a dedicated wifi or bluetooth base station and host the local server so whatever computer display the device is hooked up to will not need to download new software.
For wrist angle measurement, we have readings from the imus and are now working on subtracting the two to get the angle as well as integrating the magnetometer reading to remove potential drift errors in the measurement.
For the manufacturing of the glove itself, we've been doing research into which fabrics to use. We're looking into spandex, polyester-cotton blend, and nylon. We will also be trying to sew together a quick prototype
For the force sensing we're getting good readings from the sensors and are working on calibrating the readings. We're also looking into how we could potentially make our own piezoelectric sensors out of conductive fabrics which could be more cleanly integrated with the glove
Accomplishments from Previous Week
Progress slowed during spring break. Will pay for our transgressions in push-ups
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Fully calibrate atleast 1 sensor (all 3 is ideal) before the next meeting
Create and execute a prototyping plan to create one glove of a chosen material. At the very least, narrow down material choices to 2-3 options.
Sponsor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments
We were unable to schedule a meeting for this week because of time conflicts. However for the upcoming weeks, we have decided to meet on Tuesday AM which is a much better time for Dr. Chang
We have updated him through an email but have yet to receive a reply.
Instructor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments
Heavily concerned about the process of calibrating pressure sensors. Euan will be researching more about how other users have achieved calibration. Singletact sells their own fully calibrated sensors but at a steep cost of $75. Will look into alternatives through by asking in the community forums
Risks and Areas of Concern
Calibration of sensors and eliminating drift if it occurs
Wrist angle is still underdevelopment.

Still determining how much exactly is left. Around 700~ approximately
Progress on Report and Webpage
Webpage will be updated by Friday. Priority is to get the front page full updated
Any CADs and Code will be added.
