Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
Float design has changed based on materials found from PVC dealers
Instead of a size 8 to size 6 and a size 6 to size 4 reducer combination we found out that size 8 to size 4 reducers are available.
Possibility for pressure drag to develop at the reducer, but this will most likely be negligible in 0.51 m/s (1 kt) of current
Issue with PVC vendors
Most sell in 6.1 m (20 ft) segments. It was determined that buying 6.1 m (20 ft) from a local vendor was the equivalent of buying 3.0 m (10 ft) from McMaster(w/o shipping)
Spawar is purchasing the PVC pipe from Harrington Industrial supply. We are going to pick it up
The remaining items for the build will be purchased through local retailers
Accomplishments from Previous Week
Canyon View approved our experiment and reservations have been made on Friday at 10:30am to 11:30am
Aaron, Kendra, and Alan went to SIO to take a tour of the water channel on Monday 1/23/17
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.

Construct the float body (ALL)
FBD of float with final dimensions and weights (AARON)
Finalize testing procedure (Alan)
