Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
Now aiming for 110dB instead of 130 to avoid blowing out MEMs
Decided on final design - mostly finished with fabrication. We are waiting on approval from sponsor to fabricate final MEMs dish with reference microphone and three MEMs devices. Should get approval during weekly meeting
Should have new piezo this week?
Will have PCB by next week - will give us more consistent results than breadboard
Accomplishments from Previous Week
Machined final design clamping device, end plate and threaded micrometer positioning device into end plate
Designed and ordered PCB board for MEMS signal conditioning
Optimized frequency sweep test to make (almost) constant 110dB
Did a position test in which the devices were switched to different pockets
Ordered and received softer o-rings
Ordered and received more MEMs devices
Ordered and received new pogo pins with stronger spring force and larger soldering port for easier installation
Modified one of the MEMs dish's for reference microphone integration. Microphone fits
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Finish reference mic circuit - Russ
Finish closed loop, put in voltage divider - Jenessa
Finish machining - Chris
Make temporary board for testing before PCB arrives - Kyle
More tests(new 3-d printed plunger, softer o-rings) - Kyle & Jenesssa
Sponsor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
Maybe put some kind of tape on plunger's o-ring face or polish it to make seal better
Grease aluminum plunger on alignment surface to make sure it's not effecting the system
-check bore for debris from rubbing
Aim at 110dB instead of 130dB to avoid blowing out MEMS
Instructor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
Finish final design
- change dynamic model to reflect changes and analyze new system

Risks and Areas of Concern
Our MEMS aren't rated for the frequency range and dB level that is required
Current circuit board has been giving very inconsistent
Resources or Information Required but not Available
