Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
Have results from initial tests of prototype
Waiting on ACMS to get drivers/software for using the new amp onto lab computer
- should have much better results using new amp
- predicted Monday 5/11 morning
Making better parts for improving prototype
New piezo is ordered and hopefully will be shipped soon to allow for as much testing time as possible
Accomplishments from Previous Week
Significantly improved results by removing the springs in prototype
Machined new series of vespel test beds
Machined new (light) aluminum plunger
Received reference mic
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Fixture design for new piezo - Kyle
Continue to document test results in response to various changes in test setup - Russ & Jenessa
Make test beds for implementing reference mic - Chris
Make figures for report - Russ & Jenessa

Use paper to shim MEMs in pocket
Need repeatability in assembly of module, where the user has minimal work/measuring to do to obtain the same pre-load when taking it apart and putting it back together
Try to tighten up system to minimize unwanted vibration and movement of mems
Finish vespel test bed asap
Consistency between MEMS in our data is a good sign
Debug distortion spikes at high and low end of frequency range
- the new amp should clean up dB levels, but not the distortion spikes
Instructor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments (indicate date of comments and if via email or in person)
Start monitoring current through the piezo when testing
possibly put soft material between the plate and the top of the piezo?
Talk to Sasa about suction cups
Look into rubber bellows

Risks and Areas of Concern
According to the dynamic model, our new heavier plunger(~3.5g) is going to bring the resonant frequency down to 19kHz
