Overview of Status of Analysis, Design, Fabrication, Tests, etc.
Ordering Part for prototype
Fabrication of prototype
Accomplishments from Previous Week
Most of the parts for the Power system assembly have been ordered.(Diana)
A solution was found to lighting up the LEDs due to the fact that LED run in a 14V and the power regulator would regulate the voltage to 12V. A LED driver was used to boost the voltage and regulate current.(Diana)
Received most of the sensors ordered (only pressure sensor is missing) (Jeanette)
Finished first draft of circuit diagram for sensor system (Jeanette)
Began putting together physical circuit together for sensor system (Jeanette)
Performed thermal analysis. Found the internal temperature of the cylinders. Added it to the report (Tyler)
Determined how much weight is required for negative buoyancy by force balance analysis. Added it to report (Tyler)
Determined how much spacing was required (Tyler)
Gathered background information on ocean snow research and measuring methods. (Tyler)
Ordered aluminum material, mechanical dampeners and plastic spacers for interior frame (Tyler)
Goals for Next Week (list names after each item). Use specific and measurable objectives.
Investigate the necessary tools and cables that will be needed to wire the light system.(Diana)
Research for a small and compact male power hub that connects 5 cameras and the microcontroller.(Diana)
After investigation is complete either order tools/cables or borrow them. (diana)
Finish physical circuit for Compass and Temperature/Humidity (Jeanette)
Calibrate sensors (Jeanette)
Complete Interior frame machining. (Tyler)
Add in background sections with references (Tyler)
Write testing results to show to sponsor (Everyone)
Sponsor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments
Sponsor gave the go ahead for the current frame design. Ordered parts as a result. (Tyler)
Instructor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments
The heat inside the vessel was confirmed to be in safe range for electronics. (tyler)
Risks and Areas of Concern
How to get the buoyancy weight secure in the tube. Current design has it pushing on an end cap, which would probably knock it out. (Tyler)
Resources or Information Required but not Available
Schedule
Finish sensor system and start testing one camera system
Update Gantt chart.
Budget (list amount spent and amount remaining)
camera-300
Lights and Lenses:180
Current regulator and voltage boost: 53
Power system: 700
Progress on Report and Webpage
Report is almost complete. Formatting need to done before friday morning. Report needs figures and referenced material.
