Welcome to the ACT math site for Ed-Co HS
The easiest way to convert a fraction to a decimal is by PLUGGING IT INTO A CALCULATOR. If you would like to overachieve and wean yourself from your calculator, then the next easiest way to convert a fraction to a decimal is by finding a factor that will change the denominator to 100. Since percentages/decimals are done by dividing an amount by 100, getting the fraction to X/100 is the easiest way to convert. This way you can do the math in your head because whatever is over 100 is your percentage.
To change 3/4 to a decimal, find a factor that will make the denominator (4) equal to 100. 4 * 25 = 100
3 (25) = 75 = 75% = .75
4 * (25) 100
To change 4/20 to a decimal, again, find the factor that will make the denominator (20) equal to 100. 20 *5 =100
4 (5) = 20 = 20% = .2
20 * (5) 100
