Learning a new language is hard!
You will have to study FREQUENTLY.
Probably more than you've ever had to studied for any other class.
In levels 1 & 2, the biggest part of learning the language is MEMORIZATION.
You will have lots of new words to spell correctly.
Nouns are either masculine or feminine. You need to know each noun's gender.
Each verb has six forms ("conjugations") to know.
All of this memorization takes time.
Research shows that you need to see, hear and practice each word 65 times to get it "locked" into your memory.
In class, you'll be introduced to all of the things to memorize and we will certainly practice with them. But you MUST take the time outside of class to get each one "locked" into your memory.
DO NOT SET A TIME-LIMIT ON STUDYING.
Study each word/gender/verb until you KNOW them.  Some people need 10 minutes every day, some need more.  Study as long as YOU need to in order to learn what you need to remember.
