Come into our classroom and sit in your assigned seat. If you arrive late, come in quietly, put your phone away and go directly to your seat.
At EHS, students are required to put cellphones, powered off or in airplane mode, in their assigned pocket on the classroom wall and then sit in their assigned seats.
All smart watches and earbuds/earphones must be put away and not visible for the duration of class.
Please refer to the syllabus for the EHS policy on Academic Honesty.
Students will not be given a hall pass every time they ask unless they have a medical excuse (via a 504 plan or an email from a parent if the situation that requires the pass is short-term in nature. For privacy reasons, I will NOT need to know the reason for the request.) Students should ask to us the bathroom in the target language and may not take their phones out of the room with them.
We will take ONE bathroon break for the entire class. About mid-way through the Block, all students will be escorted to the bathrooms at the same time. They should be quiet as we pass the other classrooms. All students should use the bathroom immediately (not wait until we are about to return to the classroom) and need to leave with the group. No students can remain in the classroom or in the bathroom. This severely limits interruptions to instructional time.
Students who attempt to sleep in class will be offered the opportunity to go to the Nurse's Office if they are feeling unwell. Illness is the only valid excuse for attempting to sleep in class.
If I need to stay awake at school, so do my students!
