School-Family Partnership
Community is one of Dwight School's Three Pillars and so we view concerns regarding technology as a partnership between the school, families, and students. The resources presented here are one way for Dwight School to support families and students in their use of technology inside and outside of the school. We also hold several parent-technology events throughout the year, in order to discuss technology issues and how to best approach those concerns as a community.
Parental Controls
Installing parental controls interferes with our IT department's ability to manage and support student laptops. Therefore, the best solution for providing restrictions at home would be to install restrictions on your home network. We do not recommend any specific solution, but some options include setting restrictions on a child-only wifi network or using a router/DNS solution such as Circle or SafeDNS.
