Wildlife Disease Surveillance Workshop

Post date: Aug 2, 2017 10:54:37 PM

Taronga Zoo will be hosting a Wildlife Disease Surveillance Workshop on Thursday 21 September 9:00-12:00.

Outbreaks of wildlife disease, especially insect vector transmitted, are often associated with climate patterns such as El Nino events.

Dr Hannah Bender and Dr Karrie Rose will present research based on long-term data sets to examine the relationship between climate variables and disease in free-ranging wildlife, identify hotspots of likely disease emergence and assess subsequent risk to wildlife.
