Creating & Maintaining ALPs
Colorado Law States:
All plans must include at least one goal in the area of identified strength(s) and one social emotional (affective) goals.
Academic goals must be aligned to standards.
Advanced Learning Plans should NOT be written in isolation by either the classroom teacher or gifted education facilitator.
Progress Toward ALP goals should be monitored and reported through regular communication channels aligned with school progress monitoring timelines.
Early Access (Kindergarten/First Grade): ALPs MUST be created/updated by August 31st, using the information in the Early Access Portfolio.
Elementary: ALPs are created in EduClimber. Include student and parent voice through face to face conferences, google forms, or other means of collaboration. Plans must be updated by September 30th of each school year.
Middle School: ALP must be developed for each student, blended with ICAP, and should reflect student academic, affective, and postsecondary goals/plans.
High School: ALP must be developed for each student in Naviance, blended with ICAP, and should reflect student academic, affective, and postsecondary goals/plans.
