Regular and prompt attendance at school is very important for your child’s learning. Please see that they are in school on time each day. The building opens at 8:00 AM and children must be in their classroom ready to learn by 8:25. When your child is absent from school because of illness, or for any other reason, parents are required to notify the school each day of their absence at 203-797-4739. If an absence of three or more days is anticipated, please call the school nurse. If there will be prolonged absence for family vacation or other reasons, please inform the office as soon as possible.
Contact your child's teacher and the office regarding any school visits. Please send a note or call by 9:00 am if you need to pick up your child during the day or drop something off. We will have a table outside to drop off forgotten items. When you arrive at school, ring the buzzer and we will help you. Please bring a photo ID when picking up your child from school. All exterior doors will remain locked throughout the day and evening.
Students who are being dropped off to school in the mornings cannot be dropped off prior to 8:00 AM. There is no adult supervision prior to that time. All students must wait in the entrance way of the school and will be permitted to walk to their classrooms at 8:00 AM. Parent drop off:
For students in Grades 1-5, parents can drop students off at the circle off of Tamarack from 8:00-8:25. For everyone’s safety, we need to keep traffic organized and moving smoothly. Please do not pass cars. Your child(ren) should be getting out of the passenger side of the car during parent drop-off and the parent should not be getting out of the car. Staff will direct you when it is safe to unload your child(ren).
For Kindergarteners, from 8:00 -8:25, drive through the circle off of Tamarack and park in the parking lot to the left with the basketball hoops. Walk your child up the stairs to the kindergarten door. A staff member will meet your child and help them to class. You will be in line with all drop-offs, you will just need to proceed through, park and then walk to the drop-off area. Please be advised that doors close at 8:25 sharp.
Parent Pick-up: For students in Grades 1-5, parents can park in the area off Tamarack and proceed to the gym doors. Doors will be labeled by grade. Please bring a photo ID when picking up your child from school. Parent pick up will be at 2:50pm. The first few days, even weeks, may be slow, just please be patient as we want to make sure students are dismissed safely. Please be advised that doors close by 3:10. After that, you will need to proceed to the upper level lot to pick your child up from the office.
