Danbury's Language Arts Department supports our fourteen elementary schools. Each school has a Language Arts Specialist who works closely with the principal and staff to identify each building's strengths and needs and determine how best to facilitate change. Although their responsibilities and daily schedules vary, all schools follow the philosophy of For, With, and By; a sliding scale of support that encompasses M. Mooney's research as well as L. Vygotsky's research.

As a district team the department meets together on a regular basis to hone professional skills, discuss issues and instructional needs, and to develop resources supporting Danbury Public Schools' Curriculum.
