Title: Clearly describes the investigation.
Purpose: Has a clearly defined purpose that reflects the testable question.
Background information: Gives a concise summary of the background information needed to understand the project. Should consist of, at least, 5 salient points.
Hypothesis (E): an if . . . then hypothesis is made, and a rationale is included. The hypothesis is based on the review of the literature
Independent variable: clearly identifies the independent variable(s).
Dependent variable: clearly identifies the dependent variable and how it will be measured.
Problem/need (D): Describes in detail a real world problem or need
Procedure (E)/Design Plan (D): explicitly stated, easy to follow, includes measurements in metric, exact amounts used, sufficient trials, disposal step
Materials list: all inclusive, includes measurements in metric, all materials and equipment used is listed
Reference List: There were at least 5 relevant sources, and at least three were primary sources.
Next step: give a time frame for experimentation (includes dates, time necessary for each step, etc)
