In this module you will be contacting potential mentors as a resources to support your research. Below are links to universities and research facilities where you will be able to find staff mentors that you can contact. In addition to contacting potential mentors you will develop a finalized version of your procedure. At this time you will need to consider all possible materials and equipment needed to complete your research.
Actions to be completed:
1) Research mentors and draft emails to three potential mentors. (Read some of their published articles) Link to Example Email
*Share emails with the teacher before sending to potential mentors
*bcc the teacher when you send the email
*Fill out the Mentor Information Form for each of the mentors that help you
2) Develop your procedure
*Make sure it can be followed by a person with little knowledge of your topic.
*Write as a numbered list, with all measurements in metric
*Include diagrams/images if helpful
*Include instructions of when/how to take data
*Be sure to include disposal steps if necessary
3) Submit procedure to mentor for input.
