LEGO Robotics

The LEGO Robotics Club is offered to fourth grade students at The Lane as an optional after-school activity. The purpose of the club is to offer students an opportunity to have fun and learn some very basic programming and robotics.

The club uses LEGO Mindstorms EV3 kits that were purchased by the PTO. During club meetings, the students learn to use the components of the kits to build robots and learn to program their robots using the icon-based programming software. After they have mastered basic programming, club meetings involve the students in programming their robots to accomplish tasks and solve challenges. Problem solving and logical thinking skills are emphasized. Students work in pairs or small teams to accomplish the challenges.

The club will meet after school on Tuesdays until 4:10. The LEGO Robotics Club will begin on Thursday, November 1, 2022.  The meeting dates are 11/1, 11/15, 11/29, 12/6, 12/13, 12/20, 1/10, 1/17, 1/24, 1/31, 2/7, 2/14, 2/21, 2/28, and 3/7.

Permission slips are due by October 25, 2022.
