The Lane Library does accept donations of new books and materials. Materials must meet the criteria of the District 181 Materials Selection Policy and not all donated materials will necessarily be added to the library's collection. Donation bookplates are placed in donated materials to acknowledge the donation.

The Lane Library does accept donations of gently used books and materials with the following understanding:
Donated materials will be reviewed to determine their suitability for the library and the Library Collection’s current needs. If donated materials are not used by the library, they will be offered to other staff within the school. If donated materials are not needed by building staff, they will be donated to another educational institution. Other educational institutions may include sister schools and SCARCE, but are not limited to these institutions.
