Drawing Portfolio

Portfolio Description

Students will expand and advance their drawing skills by exploring a variety of drawing, painting, printmaking, and mixed media processes and techniques, and compositional and aesthetic concepts. The media utilized and drawing problems presented will be both guided by the teacher and motivated by students' interests, but in ALL artworks, mark making and rendering will be the emphasis. Understanding of color and color scheme, observational drawing and painting, perspective, value/light/contrast, surface manipulation, risk-taking with materials, and accurate, as well as stylized, drawing and painting skills are key.

Students will produce a minimum of 15 works that satisfy the requirements of the Sustained Investigation section and 5 pieces for the Selected Works section (which may be 5 from the 15 in the focused study section) for the AP Studio Art Drawing Portfolio.
