Auditioned ensemble, grades 9th-12th
1st Period
Students who play stringed instruments will rehearse and perform from symphony traditions, including jazz and world folk music. Auditioned ensemble, ONLY 10th - 12th grade will be accepted. String techniques and fundamentals will be taught and applied to performance. Brass and woodwind must have instructor permission to participate, as seating is limited for these positions. Students will learn to collaborate on musical projects and demonstrate understanding. The class will perform in local and regional festivals, concerts and competitions. Rehearsals in and out of school required.

Symphony Rehearsal Absence / Tardy Reminder
Are you going to be absent or tardy to our weekly Wednesday Symphony Rehearsal (6:00–8:00 PM)?
If so, you are required to submit the Central Valley Symphony Rehearsal Absence/Tardy Request Form at least 24 hours prior to rehearsal to Mr. Flemmer.
Please remember: submitting this form is a professional courtesy — not permission to miss rehearsal.
When completing the form, you must include:
Your reason for the absence or tardy
Your personal rehearsal plan to stay caught up
Your plan for a substitute, if applicable
We are a large ensemble, and every part matters. Your preparation, communication, and responsibility directly impact the success of the entire team.
