Our classroom has some basic routines/policies in place for certain things. Please see below for some of these policies.
Since CUSD follows the state guidelines regarding healthy food choices (see the "School Policies" page), we cannot have treats brought in for birthday celebrations in our classroom. We would love to celebrate your child's special day though! Students will receive a birthday crown on his/her birthday, can choose something out of the birthday treasure box, and the class will sing the birthday song. If your child would like to bring something in for the class, please follow these guidelines:
No food: Due to the state guidelines, please avoid bringing in any food for birthday celebrations.
Individual goodie bags/treasures for students: Your child can bring in goodie bags or "treasures" for his/her classmates if desired. Examples could include pencils, erasers, small toys, etc. Again, please refrain from including any food in these goodie bags.
Class gift: Your child can bring in a gift for the class to use. Examples could include class balls to be used on the playground, games to be played during rainy day recesses/lunches, a book for the class library, etc.
Please do not feel obligated to have your child bring in anything for his/her birthday. We will be happy just to sing to and celebrate with your child!
Panda folders go home every Thursday. These folders will include flyers/notes either from us or from the school/PTA. They will also contain any class work being returned to your child. Everything included in the Panda folders are meant to be kept at home unless otherwise specified. Thank you to the PTA for providing these folders for all of the students!
If you would like, you can write us a note on the chart that is stapled inside the folder for each week. Please return the folder to school the following school day.
Parents are an integral part of their child's education, and we love to have parent volunteers in our classroom! Based on the CUSD guidelines, parents may volunteer provided they complete/submit the following:
* Signed copy of the CUSD Volunteer form/agreement for Stocklmeir (accessible online)
* Verified proof of:
* TB clearance (TB test results are valid for 4 years)
* Fingerprint clearance (valid for your entire time in CUSD as a parent)
For more information and links to forms, you can visit the "Volunteering" page on the CUSD website.
