OPES is a standards-based integrated model that is designed to foster the professional growth of principals in knowledge, skills, and practice. The model provides tools for assessing and monitoring leadership performance
OPES consist of the following components:
50% Administrator Performance
50% Student Growth (If a Principal has Value Added data it must be used, if a Principal is new to the building they must write an SLO)
Principal Performance (what the evaluator needs to do)
Pre-conference to initiate evaluation process (discussion of professional growth plan or Improvement plan)
Professional Growth Plan or Improvement Plan (consist of two goals)
Two Formal observations
● Two Informal Observations (walk thru )
● Utilize eTPES to capture evaluation
Evidence for Principal observations can be gathered using multiple data points and multiple visits over time.
