Professional Development Fund
The Professional Development Fund is a product of the Collective Bargaining Agreement negotiated between the Board of Education and the Cincinnati Federation of Teachers. A committee of teachers and administrators capturing the intent and spirit of the cooperative process began developing the guidelines for this fund in September 1988. The committee recognized the value of professional growth, not only for the individual teacher participating in a self-development program but also for the entire school district. The committee agreed that maintaining a high quality professional growth program sharpens skills of teachers, introduces new and creative ideas, serves as a catalyst to productivity and increases the spirit of collegiality among professional educators at all levels. The committee assumed that a fund of this nature would generate a large number of requests. It spent a great deal of time deliberating as to how this fund could serve the needs of a varied and complex workforce. The committee never lost sight of the fact that providing resources for teachers to improve their skills would ultimately improve the quality of education that students receive.

Please note that funds are available based on availability. If the PDF committee receives a high volume of applicants, random assignment will be used to select the applicants to be funded.

2nd Cycle Fall Travel (October 1 - December 31, 2024)
Applications are accepted from Tuesday, April 30 at 8am until Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at 8am. Please submit your Google form PDF application during this time frame. The PDF committee will meet on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 to review applications.
Notification will be emailed to the applicants by Thursday, May 23, 2024.

3rd Cycle Winter Travel (January 6, 2025 - March 7, 2025)
Applications are accepted from Tuesday, September 3 at 8am until Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at 8am, please submit your Google form PDF application during this time frame. The PDF committee will meet on Tuesday, September 17th, 2024 to review applications.
Notification will be emailed to the applicants by Tuesday, October 8, 2024.
4th Cycle Spring Travel (March 10, 2025 - May 9, 2025)
Applications are accepted from Tuesday, October 15 at 8am–Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at 8am. Please submit your Google form PDF application during this time frame.The PDF committee will meet on Tuesday, October 29th, 2024 to review applications.
Notification will be emailed to the applicants by Tuesday, November 19, 2024.
5th Cycle Summer Travel (May 24, 2025 – June 30, 2025) & 1st Cycle Summer Travel (July 1, -August 1, 2025)
Applications are accepted from Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at 8am until Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at 8am. Please submit your google form PDF application during this time frame. The PDF committee will meet on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 to review applications.
Notification will be emailed to the applicants by Tuesday, March 18th, 2025.
