Provide incentives to attract and retain quality teachers in the profession
Improve and encourage teachers’ professional growth opportunities.
Expand opportunities for collaboration among professional educators.
Give teachers broader roles and responsibilities which will improve student achievement and provide better schools for children and teachers.
Hundreds of teachers have successfully completed the lead teacher credentialing process and have gone on to serve the district in any number of positions:

Program Facilitator
District-wide Mentor
Curriculum Specialist/Coach
The work of the Career in Teaching program is overseen by the Career in Teaching Panel. The panel is comprised of an equal number of teachers appointed by the CFT and administrators appointed by the Superintendent. Most recently, the Career in Teaching Panel approved minor modifications to the credentialing process that allow teachers to earn ODE Master in Teaching designation while earning Lead Teaching credentials.
