THE GOLDMINE WITHIN YOU part 7
When you are not excited, you become short- sighted.
As a student, you need to be able to project accurately into the future. You need dedication to get on line while you need excitement to remain on line. Only excited student, excel.
Yes! Academics is stressful, but until you are dedicated to it excitedly, you don’t enjoy of its benefits. Dedication has to be done with excitement for it to produce maximally. Think about this, there is a subject you don’t enjoy doing, maybe because of the lecturer, or how bulky the notes are, or because of your personal inertia. You will find out that you don’t naturally get good grades in the subject. But there is another course you don’t really need but you are always excited to read it. You will agree with me that you even score better grades in such subject. Excitement has a lot to do with success.
Your continuous excitement on campus will make you an excellent student someday. What you are not excited doing will not produce for you. I had a friend on campus: he was my class representative while in my fourth year in the University. When we were given our projects, he was always so excited. Anytime you see him and his project, you could feel the excitement in the air. No wonder he had the best grades in projects that year.
Getting excited as you prepare for exams can make a whole lot of difference. This is because, situated at the core of excitement is confidence. The joy of the Lord is our strength.
For the Lord shall be thy confidence. Prov 3:26
The joy of the Lord is my strength. As a student, when you don’t derive joy in what you are doing, you become academically dry. Why?
"The vine is dried up, and the fig tree lanquisheth: the pomegranates tree, the palm tree, also the apple tree, even all trees in the field, are withered: because joy is withered away from the sons of men."
Joel 1:12(Emphasis mine)
It takes excitement to reveal that goldmine trapped inside you... Only the joyful student ever becomes fruitful. You need the oil of joy to be in command in all your pursuits.
Joy enhances mental resourcefulness. It ventilates your mental system for maximum delivery. The happier you are as a student, the wiser you become. Excitement is an amplifier of your mental capacity.
As a student, you need God’s wisdom and knowledge, but joy is your access to these deep wells.
STAYING EXCITED AS A STUDENT.
Starting from this hour, bury your negative past and refuse to make the cemetery your reference room. Take full advantage of the present, it is one way to shut the devil out of your life and academics.
Constantly and consistently view a beautiful future ahead of you.
Forget your past, make good use of your present and keep celebrating your future. If you are viewing the former things, you will surely miss the new ones. No one drives forward looking backwards. Sadness is a reflection of the past while happiness is the view of the future. Forget your pasts D’s, E’s and F’s and begin to view the A’s, B’s and C’s. What you constantly see determines what you eventually become!
"Moreover the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, Jeremiah, what seest thou? And I said, I see a rod of an almond tree. Then the Lord said unto me, thou as well seen; for I will hasten My word to perform it". Jeremiah 1: 11-12
