THE GOLDMINE WITHIN YOU part 5.
Reading is not a waste of time; it is gathering relevant information that further enhances your values in a competitive world. Imagine Daniel and the three Hebrew boys, they had to study, read and as result gathered enough information in other to beat the magicians and astrologers when it was time for examination. People who get promoted in life, had to pass the examinations of life.
Children in who were no blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability in them to stand in the kings palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans. Dan 1: 4
It was said of Daniel:
……..I Daniel understood by books….Dan 9:2
Jesus empowered twelve people and they become apostles.
And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease. Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; Matthew 10:1-2
It was not recorded that these twelve disciples were addicted readers. But see what made the impact of one apostle most resounding than the twelve that received power.
Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. Till I come, give attention to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. 1 Timothy 4:12-13
The only way to become a profitable youth is to give attention to reading or gathering information. Most youths today would rather waste time chatting away with friends on Facebook, Badoo or some other social network site than pick a worthy book to read.
This apostle was not only encouraging people to read, he was also an addicted reader himself.
The cloak that I left at Troas with Carpus, when thou comest, bring with thee, and the books, but especially the parchments. 2 Timothy 4:13
Apostle Paul was addicted to reading and writing, no wonder he emerged as the apostle. True apostles are made on the platform of knowledge. He spoke mysteries that the other apostles that camped around “power” could not understand.
The world is tired of your stories; all they are interested in is your manifestation. You can only manifest when you are duly informed. You can’t give what you don’t have.
All you have as information determines the limit to your manifestation. Reading therefore does not make you “canal” but supernatural – moulds your mentality for optimum delivery. Your mind is the gateway to the supernatural.
The only time the act of men made God very uneasy was when He saw their mind at work. “And the Lord said, behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they began to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.” Genesis 11:6
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12:2
We cannot exhaust the importance of the mind, but the greatest resource for building a robust mind set is access to spiritual information. Faith is built when the mind is fixed on a spoken word. Godly faith is therefore built up in you when your mind is fixed on God’s word. For faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Romans 10:17
A revolution for instance is been experienced in the body of Christ in Africa, due to the kind of information made available through mentally active men of God like Dr. David Oyedepo, Pastor E.A Adeboye, Pastor Sam Adeyemi, Dr. Mensa Otabil, Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, Pastor Chris Oyakilome and many others. Information is no doubt the tap root of all known revolutions.
Also take a look at all the men that once lived but made remarkable changes in our world today, they were scientist, they were inventors, ministers of God, Statesmen and business executives. They were men and women like you and me. But something set them apart and that is, they were driven by information.
Great men such as the Wright brothers, George Washington carver, Henry J. Helnz, Kathryn Khulman, William Wilberforce, Martin Luther King, Demos Shakarian, Isaac Newton, Nelson Mandela, Dr Myles Munroe, Kenneth and Gloria Copeland and many others all hunted for information that has now making the world a fairly better place to live in.
Outside information, life is reduced to a bunch of frustration. You’ve got to be addicted to information. Stop thinking like a dog, it is time to take your place as a “god” over situations and circumstances. Go now for information and you’ll see how easy it is to transform that naughty assignment into wonder solution!
This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shall meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein; for then thou shall make thy way prosperous and then thou shalt have good success. Joshua 1:8
If It is your choice to make global impact, then reading books must become your lot or you might get lost in ignorance.
